Police: Walmart greeter helps customer steal televisions

ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. – Police say a Walmart greeter did more than welcome shoppers to a store north of Tampa.

Zephyrhills police say 34-year-old Frederick Leon Gallimore arrived at Walmart with another man on April 16.

The Tampa Bay Times reports that Gallimore clocked in and began his shift. The other man, whose identity is still unknown, went to the electronics section. There he took two LCD screen TVs, valued at $476.

Police say Gallimore left the location where he's supposed to check customer receipts as the man walked toward the exit. They say Gallimore went to the parking lot and helped the man load the TVs in to a van.

Gallimore was arrested Tuesday on a felony retail theft charge. Jail records did not list an attorney for Gallimore.
