Fire rescue officials say a small plane crashed in the Florida Everglades Monday, and crews pulled at least three people from the damaged aircraft.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue spokesman Mike Jachles says the multi-passenger plane crashed around 12:30 p.m. Monday in southwest Broward County, west of Fort Lauderdale.

Crews apparently used the Jaws of Life to free the pilot, and rushed the victims to Broward Health Medical Center, WSVN reports. It adds that the plane was headed to Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport.

There was no word on what caused the crash.
