FLINT, Mich. – A 75-year-old Michigan woman has pleaded no contest to second-degree murder in the 1998 death of her 14-year-old granddaughter.
Coral Hall's remains haven't been found. She disappeared 17 years ago after making a call at a pay phone near the White Horse Tavern in Flint.
Lois Janish appeared Wednesday in Genesee County court. She was charged two years ago. At that time, a police detective said Janish admitted to beating her granddaughter with a hammer and scattering the remains with help from a boyfriend.
Janish will be sentenced on Nov. 3.
