Miami Heat Dancer Killed in Crash

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- A Miami Heat dancer was killed when another vehicle hit the motorcycle she was riding in Fort Lauderdale.

Police say 22-year-old Nancy G. Lopez-Ruiz was riding her 2003 Suzuki Friday evening when the car behind her hit the median and then struck the motorcycle. Lopez-Ruiz was thrown from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police opened a drunk driving investigation into the car's driver, but no charges were immediately filed.

Lopez-Ruiz had just recently signed on to dance with the Miami Heat this season.
