A powerful winter storm hammered the Northeast, bringing heavy snow, strong winds, coastal flooding, and dangerous driving conditions.

Some areas of the region saw more than 3 feet of snow Thursday, especially across upstate New York and parts of Pennsylvania.

The first major snowfall to hit the East Coast led to a massive traffic pileup in central Pennsylvania that left at least two dead and another one in New York City that injured a half dozen people.

FAST FACTS

    • This nor'easter has brought more snowfall to New York City than the entirety of the Big Apple's 2019-2020 winter season, according to the National Weather Service.
