RICHMOND, Va. – Authorities in Virginia say an officer shot at a suspect during a police chase in Chesterfield County.
The Chesterfield County Police Department tells news outlets the incident took place after an officer attempted to stop a vehicle that was driving erratically Sunday afternoon.
Officials say that the suspect led officials on a brief chase. The car eventually stopped and a confrontation ensued between the suspect and an officer. The officer fired shots at the suspect, who wasn't hit.
The suspect sped off again, but was later found after crashing his car in Richmond.
He's in police custody and charges are pending. Authorities have not released the name of the suspect.
No officers were injured during the incident.
