ORANGE, Va. – Police are investigating a second fatal skydiving accident at the same airport in Virginia in less than two months.
State Police spokesman Sgt. Les Tyler said Wednesday that April Haag, 40, was injured in a jump at the Orange County Airport Saturday and died a day later.
Haag was tandem jumping with 44-year-old Douglas Zelbey and they had "a hard landing," according to Tyler. He declined to elaborate.
A hospital spokeswoman said Wednesday that Zelbey is in fair condition.
On Sept. 23, a man died a day after he collided with another skydiver during a jump at the airport, located about 70 miles southwest of Washington, D.C.
