New York Events:

5 a.m. — Pipe and drum bands will march and enter city from all five boroughs, some crossing over the Brooklyn Bridge.

8 a.m. — Groups begin to converge at Ground Zero.

8:30 a.m. — Opening remarks by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and New York Gov. George Pataki.

8:46 a.m. — Moment of silence.

8:48 a.m. — Pataki reads Gettysburg Address.

8:50 a.m. — Giuliani begins to read the names of the victims.

10:29 a.m. — Houses of worship in New York City are asked to ring their bells in memory of the collapse of the second tower.

10:30 a.m. — Second moment of silence. New Jersey Gov. James McGreevey will follow, reading an excerpt from the Declaration of Independence.

10:34 a.m. — Victims' family members are asked to descend on a ramp to the lowest level of the World Trade Center site with a rose.

4:30 p.m. —  President George W. Bush will lay a wreath at Ground Zero.

7:12 p.m. — Ceremony to light eternal flame at the Sphere in Battery Park begins. Bloomberg will light the flame and read part of Franklin D. Roosevelt's "Four Freedoms" speech. Simultaneously, people in New York City and across the nation are asked to light candles in vigils in parks and towns.

7:30 p.m. — Musical tribute to the heroes of Sept. 11.

9:01 p.m. — Bush addresses the nation from New York.

Shanksville, Pa., Events:

7 a.m. — Community prayer breakfast.

9:30 a.m. — A 2,000-pound bell will ring 40 times during a memorial service in honor of the those who lost their lives on United Airlines Flight 93.

Early afternoon — President George W. Bush, accompanied by first lady Laura Bush, will lay a wreath in the field where Flight 93 crashed.

7 p.m. — Community memorial concert.

Washington, D.C., Events:

8 a.m. — Interfaith service at National Cathedral.

8:35 a.m. — White House events begin.

8:46 a.m. — Moment of silence at White House.

9:20 a.m. — Pentagon service begins. President George W. Bush and first lady Laura Bush are expected to attend.

9:37 a.m. — Moment of silence at the Pentagon.
