This Week's Show:
In this Memorial Day weekend special edition of Heroes, we pay tribute to those brave souls who gave their lives to defend the American way of life.
We'll give you a tour of the place where heroes are made — West Point.
Every spring West Point hosts The Sandhurst Challenge in a competition that the tests strength, technique and teamwork. This year, because of West Point's bicentennial, it was an international event. Teams from Germany, England and Canada competed against West Point and the other U.S. military academies.
When a Special Ops soldier dies in the line of duty the warrior fund is there to insure that the soldier's children get an education. For more information visit: www.specialops.org
In 1942 the USS Indianapolis delivered the atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima. On her return home she was hit by a Japanese torpedo. The survivors are true heroes who went through a harrowing three-day ordeal in the Pacific.
And, you'll meet Eric Kapitulik, a Marine whose spirit will teach you the true meaning of Semper Fi, as he runs a triathlon in memory of his fallen comrades.
If you would like to contribute to the Education Scholarship that Kapitulik has been racing for, please make donations payable to "Force Recon Scholarship Fund," and send them to:
