U.S. midfielder Jermaine Jones will miss the team's World Cup qualifier at Mexico on Tuesday night after spraining his left ankle Friday night in a 2-1 victory over Costa Rica in Commerce City, Colo.
USA Soccer said Sunday that Jones' didn't travel with the team to Mexico, and no replacement will be added to the 23-man roster.
Jones was injured in the first half of the game played in a blizzard, and needed two stitches to close a cut. He left the game in the 83rd minute.
