Minneapolis, MN – The Minnesota Twins inked catcher Ryan Doumit to a two-year, $7 million contract extension.
Doumit, 31, was drafted in the second round by Pittsburgh in 1999. He spent his first seven seasons playing for the Pirates, but then signed with the Twins as a free agent last November.
Coming into Friday, he was hitting .271 with seven homers and 32 RBI this season.
