Patrick Miller scored 22 points, including five free throws in the final 46 seconds, as Tennessee State defeated Tennessee Tech 71-65 on Saturday night.

Miller was 12 of 19 from the free-throw line, scoring the final five points for the Tigers (10-9, 7-2 Ohio Valley Conference), who have won four straight and remained tied with Austin Peay for first in the OVC.

Tennessee State is 7-1 at home.

The Tigers led by as many as eight points in the second half, but Tennessee Tech (9-9, 5-4) cut the margin to 64-61 on Zac Swansey's free throw with 1:37 left. Kenny Moore's layup gave the Tigers a 66-61 lead with 1:04 left and the Golden Eagles missed four 3-point attempts in the final 57 seconds.

Moore finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds and Wil Peters added 12 points.

Kevin Murphy had 16 points and 10 rebounds and Swansey added 13 points for Tennessee Tech.
