DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) Sunoco is the latest sponsor of Daytona International Speedway's redevelopment project.
The American fuel manufacturer announced a multi-year deal Tuesday to become one of five major sponsors of Daytona Rising, the $400 million facelift taking place at NASCAR's most famous track.
Sunoco will have naming rights to one of five fan injectors at Daytona. Chevrolet, Toyota and Florida Hospital already agreed to sponsor injectors, leaving one naming-rights deal to be struck before the makeover is complete in January.
The redesigned entry will include more than 20,000 square feet of display area for Sunoco as well as a fan engagement experience that spans four concourse levels. Sunoco also will have branding rights for one of the ''neighborhoods'' located near its injector. Each of the 11 football-field-sized neighborhoods will feature retail and dining areas.
