DELAND, Fla. – Freshman guard Corey Walden made a floater off the glass with 5.5 seconds left to give Stetson a 55-54 win over East Tennessee State on Sunday.
Sheldon Cooley then took an inbound pass for the Buccaneers in the final seconds and dribbled into the lane, where Stetson's Luis Jacobo took a charge with 1.4 seconds left.
The Hatters (7-18, 5-9 Atlantic Sun Conference) snapped a seven-game losing streak that began with back-to-back one-point losses.
Walden led Stetson with 15 points, nine rebounds and six steals. He also became the first Hatter to play a full 40 minutes since Will Robertson on Feb. 17, 2001, a span of 284 games.
ETSU (17-9, 12-3), which had won 13 of its last 14 games, was led by Micah Williams' 15 points.
Stetson trailed by 11 points, 54-43, with 5:40 to play before scoring the game's final 12 points.
