Buffalo, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The Buffalo Sabres claimed disappointing winger Cory Conacher off waivers from the Ottawa Senators.
Conacher arrived in Canada's capital at last year's trade deadline from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for goaltender Ben Bishop, but recorded only six goals and 25 points over 72 games since then.
It's a sort of homecoming for the 24-year-old, who spent four years with Canisius College and left school as the program's all-time leader in goals (62) and points (147).
Conacher has posted 15 goals and 34 assists in 107 NHL contests over the last two seasons.
