Eindhoven, Netherlands – PSV Eindhoven manager Fred Rutten has announced that he will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Rutten, 49, took over at PSV in April 2009, but despite a strong start to the current campaign which sees the club just one point from the top spot in the Eredivisie, the boss has stated his intentions to let his contract run out.
"I don't doubt for a second Fred Rutten's commitment for the rest of the season," PSV technical manager Marcel Brands said in a statement.
"He is a true professional. He and the players alike want to win prizes and that won't change."
The club's general manager, Tiny Sanders, said that Rutten had informed the board that he was considering the move weeks ago, and that he has now come to a final decision.
