Morgan Roberts threw three touchdowns and ran in the game winner to lift Yale to a 54-43 win in its season opener over Lehigh on Saturday.

Trailing by as many as 21 points in the second quarter, the Yale comeback was sparked by a 51-yard touchdown run by Candler Rich followed by a 68-yard scoring strike from Morgan to Deon Randall, who had 13 catches for 152 yards and also ran in a score from the 20. Rich, who had 104 yards on 11 carries, hauled in a 23-yard TD pass as well.

Morgan was 30 of 39 for 356 yards and an interception. Tyler Varga had 152 yards on 19 carries, including a 19-yard touchdown in the third quarter that gave the Bulldogs their first lead of the game.

Nick Shafnisky was 20 of 36 for 311 yards and three touchdowns for Lehigh (0-3).
