St.Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The St. Louis Rams will have defensive end Chris Long back on the field for Sunday's game against the Oakland Raiders after activating the Pro Bowl pass rusher from injured reserve/designated to return on Saturday.
Long was placed on recallable IR in September after suffering an ankle injury that required surgery in the Rams' season opener against Minnesota. The four- time Pro Bowl selection has been practicing for the last three weeks, however, and is expected to be active for Sunday's tilt.
The 2008 No. 2 overall draft choice has racked up 33 sacks since 2011, including 8 1/2 while starting all 16 games last season.
Linebacker Marshall McFadden was waived to clear a spot for Long's return.
