Sunrise, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Florida Panthers activated goaltender Tim Thomas from injured reserve Tuesday.
Thomas has been out of action since Dec. 10 with a lower-body injury previously reported to be a groin issue.
The 39-year-old backstop has gone 9-10-1 with a 2.75 goals-against average and .909 save percentage in 21 appearances this season, his first after taking a year off.
Florida sent goaltender Jacob Markstrom and defenseman Alex Petrovic to their AHL affiliate in San Antonio.
