The NFL suspended Green Bay Packers defensive tackle Mike Pennel for the first four games of the 2016 season without pay for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.

The 24-year-old, who signed as an undrafted free agent with Green Bay in 2014, is eligible to participate in all offseason and preseason practices and games.

Pennel has played two seasons with the Packers, appearing in 29 games and making 33 tackles. He appeared in all 16 games this past season, making five starts and one sack.
