Marcus Ware scored 24 points to lead Monmouth (N.J.) to a 68-57 comeback win over Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday night.

The Hawks (7-18, 3-10 Northeast Conference) trailed 36-26 with 2:48 remaining before halftime. Phil Wait got a dunk and James Hett converted a layup to close Monmouth's deficit to 36-30 at the break.

Briahn Smith hit a 3-pointer to give the Knights (4-20, 2-11) their largest lead, 43-32, less than 3 minutes into the second half. But a 12-0 run by the Hawks, capped with another slam by Wait with 14:31 left to play, gave them a 44-43 lead.

Monmouth continued to lead, 60-57, with 2:26 on the clock and scored the game's final eight points to seal the victory and snap a four-game losing streak. Mike Myers Keitt added 15 points for the Hawks.

Terence Grier and Mike Scott scored 15 apiece for Fairleigh Dickinson, which has lost eight straight.
