Springfield, MO – Missouri State starting quarterback Trevor opener against Arkansas after he violated team rules.
The school announced the one-game ban Thursday, but did not detail what Wooden did to break team rules.
"Trevor made a poor decision during the spring by breaking a team rule which will affect his availability for our opener," said head coach Terry Allen. "I'm very disappointed by the situation, but I think it is in the best interest of our program to announce our decision at this time and move forward in our preparation for the Arkansas game."
Wooden, a sophomore, will continue to practice with the team and can earn the starting job back following the September 3 opener.
"More is expected of me as a leader on this team, and I let my teammates down," Wooden said. "I have great respect for this program and the University, and I won't let them down again."
Mitchell Jenkins and Kierra Harris will compete for the starting role against the Razorbacks.
