HARTFORD, Conn. – A New York City judge has dismissed a discrimination and assault lawsuit against University of Connecticut women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma and USA Basketball.
NBA security official Kelly Hardwick had sued in June. She alleged she was removed from the USA women's basketball team's security detail at the London Olympics last year after spurning sexual advances from Auriemma.
Auriemma, who coached the women's team to a gold medal in London, denied the allegations. Hardwick says she was reinstated to the London security detail after filing the lawsuit.
Supreme Court Justice Cynthia S. Kern dismissed the case April 11, saying the alleged conduct didn't happen in New York. The Connecticut Post first reported her decision.
Hardwick's lawyer has appealed the dismissal to the New York Supreme Court's Appellate Division.
