EUGENE, Ore. – Joseph Young scored a career-high 25 points as Oregon took a commanding lead early and held off archrival Oregon State for a 93-83 win on Sunday.
Mike Moser added 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Oregon (16-8, 4-8 Pac-12), which had five players in double figures.
Eric Moreland led Oregon State with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Roberto Nelson scored 18 for the Beavers (13-11, 5-7 Pac-12). Oregon State now has lost three in a row.
The Ducks opened the game with 12-of-16 shooting from the floor and led 31-12 after a Jason Calliste 3-pointer at the 10:39 mark. Oregon went 7-7 on 3-pointers during the stretch, and took a 45-35 lead into the break.
Oregon State twice trimmed the lead to two points in the second half, the latter when Hallice Cooke sank two free throws to make the score 72-70 with 5:11 remaining.
