Wolfsburg, Germany – Wolfsburg announced on Wednesday that the club has signed Germany international Thomas Hitzlsperger.
The 29-year-old midfielder moves to Germany from West Ham after he left the club as a free agent following the Hammers' relegation from the Premiership.
"Thomas is a player who will help us with his professional approach and his international experience," Wolfsburg coach Felix Magath said. "I am pleased that he is now with us, because he is a player who can lead the team."
Hitzlsperger started 11 games in the league for West Ham last season, scoring two goals, while he has earned more than 50 caps for Germany during his international career.
