Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Atlanta Hawks requested waivers on forward Antawn Jamison Friday, one day after obtaining the veteran at the trade deadline.

The Hawks acquired Jamison from the Los Angeles Clippers Thursday in exchange for the rights to European forward Cenk Akyol, but decided not to add him to the roster. The team instead re-signed forward Cartier Martin for the remainder of the season.

Martin was waived Thursday, when his second 10-day contract with the Hawks expired, to make room for Jamison's addition.

Jamison had played sparingly with the Clippers this season, his 16th in the NBA. In 22 games with Los Angeles, the 37-year-old averaged 3.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 11.3 minutes.

Martin averaged 6.7 points and 2.0 rebounds, while shooting 42.4 percent from 3-point range, in 31 games over two separate stints with the Hawks this season. He was first waived by Atlanta in January, played briefly with the Chicago Bulls, and re-joined the Hawks on Feb. 1.
