Turin, Italy – Juventus midfielder Sebastian Giovinco is set to spend some time on the sidelines after the club confirmed that he tore an ankle ligament in Saturday's 2-0 win over Parma.
The 25-year-old was forced off the field toward the end of the match and Juventus said in a statement that a scan revealed "a first-degree tear to his anterior ligament."
Giovinco is now expected to miss at least the next two weeks, while Italy's World Cup qualifiers with Bulgaria and Malta have also been ruled out.
