NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – Alex Francis scored a season-high 26 points and career-high 18 rebounds as Bryant remained perfect in Northeast Conference play, topping Central Connecticut State 69-62 Saturday.
Francis, who collected his second double-double of the season, helped Bryant (11-4, 4-0) dominate in the paint, where it outscored the Blue Devils 34-14. The junior scored 20 points in the second half as the Bulldogs overcame a 33-31 intermission deficit to win by seven and continue a remarkable turnaround — Bryant was 1-17 in NEC play last year and 2-28 overall.
Frankie Dobbs added 14 points, Joe O'Shea 11 and Corey Maynard 10 for the Bulldogs.
Kyle Vanales scored 22 points and Adonis Burbage had 20 for CCSU (6-9, 2-2), which got zero points from its bench and shot 28.6 percent (18 of 63) from the floor.
CCSU led 56-53 with 4 minutes left, but then an O'Shea 3-pointer sparked a 10-0 Bryant run.
