Nijmegen, Netherlands – Jean-Paul Boetius scored early and late to help lead Feyenoord to a 3-0 win at NEC on Sunday that keeps the club within three points of Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven.
Feyenoord has won four of its five games to stay in the top three, and Sunday's result was never in much doubt after Boetius netted the opening goal in the 11th minute.
Graziano Pelle doubled the advantage for the visitors shortly before halftime, and Boetius scored his fourth goal of the campaign and second of the match seven minutes from time to wrap up the win.
RKC Waalwijk earned a big 2-1 win AZ Alkmaar behind two goals from Mart Lieder, including the winner in the 76th minute.
AZ's Jozy Altidore scored the equalizer in the 69th minute, but Lieder answered seven minutes later to help move RKC one point above AZ in the fight to avoid relegation.
