LONDON – England survived defensive lapses to overcome Peru 3-0 on Friday in its final game at Wembley Stadium before the World Cup.
Daniel Sturridge provided the friendly match's only standout moment of skill when he put England ahead in the 32nd minute by striking into the top corner.
It took England until the second half to extend the lead, with both goals due to Peru's inability to defend a pair of corners.
Phil Jagielka's set piece was headed home in the 65th by Gary Cahill, and Jagielka found the net himself five minutes later after goalkeeper Raul Fernandez dropped Leighton Baines' corner.
England heads over the weekend to Miami to play friendlies against Ecuador and Honduras before flying onto Brazil for its World Cup opener against Italy on June 14.
