Reger Dowell scored a career-high 37 points as Texas-Arlington overcame a 17-point deficit to defeat Western Kentucky 80-73 on Saturday night

UTA fell behind 20-5 in the first six minutes and Western Kentucky stretched the lead to 26-9. The Mavericks pulled within 60-55 on consecutive 3s by Dowell and Brandon Edwards.

An assist by Shaquille White-Miller to Edwards gave UTA its first lead, 64-63 with 3:52 remaining. The Mavericks closed on a 16-10 run to seal it.

Dowell was 10 of 22 from the field and 15 of 18 from the line. Edwards finished with 19 points and 12 rebounds for his 12th career double-double. Texas-Arlington (13-15, 8-8 Sun Belt) has won four of its last five conference games.

T.J. Price scored 17 points and Brandon Harris added 14 for Western Kentucky (19-10, 11-5).
