A Wake Forest offense that was hoping to be more potent this season suffered a big setback as it was announced that Jared Crump, the team's top returning wide receiver from a year ago, will be out for the season with a torn ACL.
Crump, a junior, sustained the injury during practice last week. Last year, Crump caught 32 passes for 339 yards and was expected to play a major role in the Deacons offense.
With Crump gone, Wake Forest has no wide receivers on its roster that caught more than eight catches last year.
