OXNARD, Calif. – The Dallas Cowboys have released long snapper Jackson Anderson, replaced him with P.J. Mangieri and signed kicker Brett Maher.
All three players are rookie free agents. Maher is a kicker and punter who gives the Cowboys another preseason option after they released Spencer Benton last week.
Dallas is set with Dan Bailey at kicker and Chris Jones at punter. Jones won the job in training camp last year but injured a knee four games into the season and didn't return.
Bailey was the only kicker on the roster for Friday's preseason loss at Oakland. The Cowboys had a scare when he was shaken up trying to make a tackle on a blocked field goal. He later returned.
