ELON, N.C. – Andrew Goudelock scored 20 of his 34 points in the second half as College of Charleston overcame a halftime deficit to beat Elon 85-67 on Wednesday night.
The Cougars (18-7, 11-2 Southern Conference) trailed 40-39 at the break after making only one field goal in the final 4:20 of the opening half.
Willis Hall's 3-pointer at the 14:27 mark capped a 15-5 run to open the second half, putting College of Charleston in front 54-45.
The Cougars went on a 17-2 run to push their lead to 73-53 with 5:23 to go, and Jordan Scott's jumper gave them an 83-60 advantage with 1:18 remaining.
Donovan Monroe added 13 points and Trent Wiedeman had 10 for the Cougars, who have won six of their last seven games.
The Phoenix (10-15, 4-10) were led by Ryley Beaumont's 11 points. Jack Isenbarger and Sebastian Koch each scored 10 for Elon, which has lost five straight.
