Granada, Spain (SportsNetwork.com) - Granada confirmed on Friday that the club has parted ways with manager Joaquin Caparros after a poor first half of the season.

Caparros joined Granada in May after he failed to agree to a new contract with Levante, but he managed only two wins in 18 league fixtures as the club resides on the bottom of La Liga.

Granada's last win in league play came in September in a 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao, while Granada has gone 14 games without a win in the league since that time.

Joseba Aguado has been placed in temporary charge of the club while the search for a permanent successor takes place, and his first match in charge will be a tough assignment at defending champions Atletico Madrid.
