Calgary, AB (SportsNetwork.com) - Eddie Lack posted his second career shutout as the Vancouver Canucks blanked the Calgary Flames 2-0 on Sunday.
Lack, who was in net due to Roberto Luongo being day-to-day with a lower-body injury suffered in the Canucks' 2-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets a week ago, stopped all 18 shots that came his way.
Jannik Hansen and Mike Santorelli each scored a goal for the Canucks, who have won three in a row and are 10-1-1 overall in December.
"I thought we played in the areas and we played hard. I'm very happy we found a way to get it done," Canucks coach John Tortorella said.
Reto Berra made 28 saves for the Flames, who have lost six of their last seven. They've been blanked in their last two games.
"Good scoring chances are tough to get right now," Flames coach Bob Hartley said. "We just have to keep working at it. We're wasting good performances from Berra."
The Canucks scored with just 40 seconds to play in the first period.
Henrik Sedin sent a long breakaway pass from the Canucks zone to a speeding Hansen, who controlled the puck and beat a sliding Berra stick side with a wrister.
After a Lack save, Santorelli scored his ninth of the season on a quick shot past Berra after a feed by Ryan Kesler on a 2-on-1 break with a little under two minutes to play.
Lack stopped 10 shots in the final period to secure the victory.
