RICHMOND, Va. – Mike Muscala nailed a 16-foot turnaround jumper as time expired to lift Bucknell past Richmond 62-61 on Sunday.
The Bison (9-7) trailed 61-60 after a free throw from Darien Brothers with 2.6 seconds left.
Bucknell attempted a long inbounds pass to Muscala, but the ball sailed out of bounds, turning it back over to the Spiders.
A quick foul by the Bison sent Kevin Anderson to the free-throw line, looking to extend Richmond's lead. Anderson missed both free throws and Bucknell called its final timeout with 1.7 seconds to go.
Joe Willman heaved the ensuing inbounds pass to Muscala, who caught it near the left elbow, spun around and nailed a fadeaway jumper to clinch the win for Bucknell.
Muscala and Bryson Johnson finished with 17 points to lead the Bison.
Justin Harper scored 19 points, Anderson added 13 and Francis-Cedric Martel 10 for the Spiders (11-4).
