AUGUSTA, Ga. – Amen Corner has some competition. There's a new must-see spot at Augusta National.
Bubba's pine straw.
A steady stream of fans are flocking to the hollow right of the 10th fairway, where Bubba Watson struck that amazing pitching wedge off the pine needles to set up his playoff win at last year's Masters.
Even though he couldn't see the flag, Watson hooked his ball around the trees at nearly a 90-degree angle. It came to rest about 10 feet from the flag, setting up a two-putt par that beat Louis Oosthuizen.
Watson says he has no plans to attempt the shot again, even for fun during the practice rounds as the defending Augusta champion. He doesn't want to diminish the memory of one of the greatest strikes in Masters history.
