John Holland scored 17 of his 29 points in the second half, and Boston University defeated Stony Brook 67-62 on Thursday night.

Holland has scored at least 20 points in five straight games for the Terriers (9-11, 4-2 America East Conference), who have won four of their past five games.

The Terriers trailed 46-37 with 13:47 remaining in the game, but went on a 21-4 run over the next nine minutes to take a 58-50 lead after a jumper by Patrick Hazel with 4:50 to play.

Stony Brook twice cut the lead to three points in the final minute, but the Terriers made 5 of 6 free throws during that span to seal the win. The Terriers made 19 of 25 free-throw attempts (76 percent) for the game.

D.J. Irving added 13 points for the Terriers, who won their fourth game in a row at home.

Dallis Joyner scored 15 points and Dave Coley had 13 for Stony Brook (7-9, 2-4).
