Bondad captures Sanya Ladies Open

Hainan, China – Frances Bondad shot a flawless five-under 67 on Sunday to come from behind and win the Sanya Ladies Open by a stroke.

Bondad birdied the final hole to win by one over Vikki Laing, who bogeyed the same hole. It was Bondad's first career victory.

"It feels unreal," Bondad said. "It hasn't hit me yet."

Bondad began with eight pars, but made a 35-foot putt for eagle on the ninth to break into red figures on the day and get to eight-under. She followed with a 15-foot birdie putt on the 12th and a two-putt birdie on the 13th to move to minus-10.

She entered the last behind by one, but Laing's bogey and Bondad's subsequent eight-foot birdie putt won the tournament.

Bondad's previous best finish had been a tie for second at the 2010 Open de Espana Femenino. She earned a three-year exemption for the victory.

Overnight leader Pan Yan Hong managed only an even-par 72 and slipped into a share of third witgh Ashleigh Simon (69) at eight-under 208. Laing (68) was second at 10-under.

Minea Blomqvist (70), Lin Xiyu (71), Stacey Keating (71) and Patcharajutar Kongkraphan (73) shared fifth at six-under 210.
