A's promote Mazzaro and Sogard from Triple-A Sacramento

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Oakland Athletics promoted Vin Mazzaro and Eric Sogard from Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday.

Mazzaro is in his third stint with the A's, going 6-8 with a 4.29 ERA in 21 games. He went 3-1 with a 3.13 ERA in seven games with Sacramento. The right-hander also made a postseason start with Sacramento, winning Friday at Tacoma, allowing one run on three hits in five innings.

Sogard, who was acquired in a January trade with San Diego, has never played in the majors. He hit .300 with a .391 on-base percentage with San Diego.

The A's also recalled catcher Josh Donaldson and infielder Chris Carter from Sacramento.
