WASHINGTON – Former President Bill Clinton says he wouldn’t be surprised if aliens existed and came to Earth.
“I just hope that it’s not like Independence Day,” joked Clinton, during an appearance aired Wednesday night on "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
"Independence Day" is a 1996 movie about aliens coming to Earth to invade and destroy the planet using superior technology.
“It may be the only way to unite this increasingly divided world of ours… think about all the differences among people of Earth would seem small if we feel threatened by a space invader,” Clinton added.
The 42nd president of the United States also told the late night comic that soon after becoming commander-in-chief, he had his aides research Area 51 – a super-secret military facility in Nevada. He was also interested in Roswell, N.M., long rumored to be the location of a 1947 UFO sighting.
