Matthew McConaughey has appeared shirtless in countless paparazzi photos, but that's not stopping him from launching his own clothing line.

"I like to be able to wear something that is appropriate for wherever the day takes me: to work, on a hike and then out to dinner," the "Magic Mike" star told WWD.com about his inspiration. "I like to take the formality out of the day's schedule and be ready for any off-road detour."

McConaughey's clothing line, called JKL, intends to bridge these voids with "active-inspired sportswear" and swimwear for men, including such items as quick-drying tees, moisture-wicking tops and oil- and water-repellent pants. Furthermore, 10 percent of the proceeds from JKL will directly benefit McConaughey's Just Keep Livin Foundation, which seeks to inspire young adults to lead healthier, more active lifestyles.

“I want to be behind this, not in front of it. I’m the author, not the face or the definition," McConaughey added, explaining that he intends to focus on the design of JKL rather than appearing on the marketing materials. That's probably just as well, seeing as McConaughey is more comfortable shirtless (as evidenced by more than a few paparazzi pics).

All this talk about Matthew McConaughey and clothes makes us wonder: Do you prefer the actor sans shirt?
