Shaving, waxing and plucking our body hair is just one of the many things women do in the name of beauty. Body-positive fitness blogger Morgan Mikenas hopes to change that.

THIS COMPANY TAKES #FREETHENIPPLE TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL

Mikenas started shaving in middle school, after getting bullied by her classmates for having dark hair on her legs. Having body hair, she explained in a YouTube video entitled “Why I Don’t Shave,” made her feel “ashamed” because it “didn’t feel feminine.”

But one day Mikenas had an epiphany, of sorts: Getting rid of her body hair no longer seemed worth the effort. That was in 2016 — and Mikenas hasn’t shaved her legs since.

“I guess the number one reason that I stopped is that it just took so much of my time to get in the shower and have to shave everything," she recalled in the now-viral video. "One day, I was like, ‘Why am I doing this anymore?’ And so after I kind of just let it do its thing and grow out, I realized, 'This is kind of nice.'”

Mikenas added she’s more comfortable with her body than ever before. “Honestly, I frickin’ love my hair, I love my body hair,” she said. “I just like being my most natural and human self.”

ARE EYEBROW INJECTIONS SAFE?

Since putting down the razor in 2016, Mikenas has been proudly showing off her growing body hair on Instagram, where she has more than 68,000 followers. Though Mikenas said she isn’t “trying to make all of humanity just stop shaving,” she does hope her newfound confidence will inspire others to be just as comfortable.

“I just think it’s unfair to people who think they have to [abide by] this cultural norm,” she said, then added, “You just do whatever makes you feel good.”
