The most amazing golfer in Florida these days isn’t Tiger Woods or Rory McIlroy.
Three-year-old Tommy Morrissey of Palm Beach Gardens, who was born without a fully developed right arm, is the talk of the local fairways with his astounding 100-yard drives.
These photos show Tommy swinging with his left hand in a traditional righty stance. He picked up the game at the age of 18 months, transfixed by golf on television, and soon received his first set of clubs, bringing the driver with him to bed.
“When Tommy is really focused, though, he can hit the ball 100 yards straight and clean,” says dad Joe, according to Caters News Agency. “Because of that, sometimes it’s difficult to remember he’s just a toddler. Then there are times when we have to go back to a hole because he left his Matchbox cars there.”
Of Tommy’s one-handed approach, Joe says: “His arm is both a gift and a challenge.”
