A Houston restaurant that hasn’t even opened yet has sparked a full on Yelp war between NBA rivals.

International Smoke, set to open in the Lone Star state early next month, is co-owned by Ayesha Curry, wife of Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry. His team beat the Houston Rockets in the Western Conference finals last month, and apparently Rockets fans are still bitter about it.

The barbecue joint -- which already has locations in San Francisco, San Diego, and Aventura, Fla. -- had received 199 reviews with an average rating of two and a half stars on Yelp for the new Texas location as of Wednesday afternoon.

The restaurant, which is scheduled to start taking customers July 5, brought out a fierce debate between fans of the rival teams via the comments section starting Tuesday.

Rockets fans began posting a string of one-star reviews, many referencing the two basketball teams. As soon as Warriors fans caught wind of what was going on, they jumped into the mix to defend the restaurant.

As far as Curry’s decision to bring the restaurant into enemy territory, it had nothing to do with basketball and everything to do with food…go figure.

“Houston is America’s mecca of barbecue. We would be kicking ourselves if we didn’t bring our global grilling concept to the city. We love our barbecue and think that the city of Houston will fall in love with it and make it a food home for them as well,” she told the Houston Chronicle.
