Latin singing sensation Romeo Santos is revving up for a role in the upcoming and highly anticipated “Fast & Furious 7.”
The official announcement was made during the bachata singer’s sold-out concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles when actor Vin Diesel took the stage last week.
“I came here tonight to tell you that Romeo is in ‘Fast & Furious 7,’” said Diesel alongside Romeo, while fans screamed in excitement.
Along with franchise newcomers Jason Statham and Kurt Russell, the chart-topping, Grammy nominated singer will be joining fellow Latinas Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster.
Regulars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Lucas Black and the late Paul Walker return for the film. Walker’s two brothers also joined the cast to finish filming some scenes that included him.
Santos' role in the film has not been announced.
The seventh installment of the “Fast & Furious” franchise, directed by James Wan, will be released by Universal Studios on April 10, 2015.
