Val Kilmer was reportedly rushed to the hospital on Monday night after he began bleeding from the throat due to a suspected tumor, TMZ reports.
People confirms that a man from Kilmer’s address was rushed to the hospital after a 911 call was made.
"We received a call at 11:31 p.m. from that address," a spokesperson said. "He was transported ALS [advanced life support] to the hospital."
ALS paramedics are able to respond to more serious emergencies and can administer IVs, more medications and other support, while private ambulances are used for more minor injuries, the spokesperson explained: "It's not uncommon for an ALS crew to respond to an incident."
The 55-year-old actor was treated at the UCLA Medical Center, and according to TMZ is recovering from surgery.
Kilmer’s rep has not yet commented on the situation.
