Salma Hayek is brushing off her Razzie nomination for her role in “Grown-Ups 2” with a new film that looks like the United Nations.
According to a report by Variety, the Mexican actress, 47, is set to topline the new film "The Tale of Tales" by Italian director Matteo Garrone, alongside French actor Vincent Cassel.
The English-language film will be a follow-up to Garrone’s 2012 “Reality,” which won a grand prize at the Cannes Film Festival. Shooting will begin in Italy over the spring.
According to Variety, this is Garrone’s most ambitious project to date, which will revisit various traditional Italian tales with a modern twist.
His other films include “Gomorrah” (2008) and “First Love” (2004).
Hayek is known for her breakout role in “Frida” (2002), for which she received Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild Award and Academy Award nominations. She will soon appear in “Muppets Most Wanted” and “The Prophet.”
