Bring on the fashion war and glam squads!
Project Runway All Stars is here and a few of the memorable Latino designers from past seasons are ready to dress and accessorize their way to the top.
The show aired on Thursday on Lifetime .
The cast chosen for the reality fashion competition includes former memorable contestants such as season eight’s Mondo Guerra.
The Mexican-American designer made a lasting impression while on the show, not only with his creative pieces, but also by revealing on national television that he is HIV positive.
Guerra, had been keeping the news from his close friends and religious family members for over ten years.
"There was a lot of crying,” Guerra said in an interview with Stylelist.com “They were sad and they were very, very proud.”
Guerra added that “it was the most support” he had received from his family in a long time.
“It was hard for me to see that they do love me unconditionally,” Guerra added. “More than anything they are frightened about how other people will react and treat me out in the world because of what I've shared."
Project Runway All Stars has a new set of judges as the sexy Heidi Klum is no longer hosting.
Instead supermodel Angela Lindvall, Marie Claire’s chief editor Joanna Coles and designers Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman are stepping in as judges.
Expect to see guest celeb judges such as Pharell Williams and Miranda Kerr giving the contestants some pointers.
The winner this season will have the opportunity to have their own exclusive boutique in various Neiman Marcus locations as well as on the store’s website.
He or she will also be getting $100,000 cash from L’Oreal Paris, $100,000 in a brand new office and technology/software from HP and Intel. A spread and editor position in Marie Claire magazine is also up for grabs.
As if this is not enough incentive for the designers to do well, whoever wins the competition will receive their own sewing an embroidery studio thanks to Brother International.
Ladies and gents get ready for a serious catfight —meow!
Other Latinos joining Guerra are Michael Costello from season eight and Elisa Jimenez from season four.
